Daniela Franco: Doing Other Things With Writings

Abstract

Writing is both an intellectual expression and a manual craft that weaves networks between the objects they represent and the people they summon. Writing produces analogous or digital imaginaries and materiality. These lines try to read some works by Daniela Franco compiled at http://danielafranco.com/projects and “Mujeres Encinta” (2021), from the links, affections and materiality they generate. We maintain that while these works are manifestations of the poetic and manual trade of their author, they discover unprecedented relationships between their readers, the objects and the stories they propose. We will call these relations things. We consider the writing of this author in the plural because they are several writings that converge in an exercise of active meditation that produces bodily and emotional movements.
